Brace scores three times as the Majors beat the Battalion 5-4

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Riley Brace scored three goals, including two late in the third period to force extra time, as the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors defeated the visiting Brampton Battalion 5-4 in a shootout on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Justin Rasmussen scored the winning goal for the Majors (21-18-6) in the eighth round of the shootout while Kristoff Kontos scored the other regulation-time goal and added two assists.

Sam Carrick led the Battalion (25-11-9) offensively with two goals as Patrik Machac and Alex O'Neil had the others.

Brandon Maxwell made 34 saves for the win while Keegan Wilson turned aside 17 shots in defeat.

Mississauga went 2 for 6 on the power play as Brampton scored once on four opportunities with the man advantage.
