Boychuk scores winner as Lethbridge pushes Blades to brink of upset @NHLdotcom

SASKATOON - Zach Boychuk scored the shorthanded game-winner and added an assist as the Lethbridge Hurricanes pulled within a game of upsetting the Saskatoon Blades with a 3-1 win on Saturday night in Western Hockey League playoff action.

The win gives the seventh-place Hurricanes a 3-2 series lead over Saskatoon, which won the East Division to finish second in the conference. Lethbridge has a chance to finish the series at home in game six on Monday.

Boychuk scored his sixth goal of the series with five seconds remaining in the second period to give the Hurricanes a 2-1 lead after the teams traded goals in the first. Kyle Beach added an insurance marker in the third period.

Colton Sceviour also scored for Lethbridge, while Derek Hulak had the lone goal for the Blades, who have had a hard time generating offence after scoring five goals in the opening game of the series. Saskatoon has only scored seven goals in the four games since then, while the Hurricanes have 11.

Juha Metsola made 31 saves for Lethbridge. Blades netminder Braden Holtby stopped 28 shots.
