Bowman scores lone shootout marker to lift the Chiefs over Swift Current 3-2

SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. - Drayson Bowman was the only player to score in the shootout as the Spokane Chiefs skated to a 3-2 win over the Swift Current Broncos in Western Hockey League action Saturday night.

The game turned out to be a goaltenders duel, with the teams held scoreless for over 45 minutes after the score was knotted 2-2 in the first period.

Spokane netminder Dustin Tokarski stopped 39 shots to collect his 13th win of the season. He was also successful in turning aside Matt Tassone, Keegan Dansereau and Taylor Vause in the shootout.

Swift Current goaltender Travis Yonkman made 35 saves, including four overtime saves when the Broncos were a man short on a delay of game penalty.

The Chiefs (16-7-0-3) had first period goals from Jered Cowen and Mitch Wahl.

Swift Current (16-10-0-1) replied with goals from Tassone and Jan Dalecky.
