Bouchard pulled from Wild lineup @NHLdotcom

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -Pierre-Marc Bouchard was held out of the Minnesota Wild lineup for Tuesday's home opener with the Anaheim Ducks due to the center's recurring headaches.

On Tuesday morning, Bouchard, who played in the team's season-opening loss in Columbus on Saturday, told Minnesota coach Todd Richards that the headaches he's been suffering for a few weeks were getting worse.

"He came to Todd after the morning skate and indicated he hadn't slept well and still wasn't feeling well," said Wild general manager Chuck Fletcher. "We made the obvious decision to pull him out of the lineup and at this point will seek out some medical solution."

Bouchard had suffered a virus during the preseason, which they suspected was causing the headaches, and was feeling better last week, but has taken a turn for the worse this week.

"The bloodwork showed he had a virus, and he took some medication and he felt better," Fletcher said. "He was feeling better last week and before the Columbus game, but today was a step backwards."

Bouchard had 46 points in 71 games for the Wild last season.
