It's a planned game off for the forward, who had surgery on both hips May 27. … Krejci was injured when the forward was checked into the boards by Detroit Red Wings forward Michael Rasmussen at 8:30 of the second period Thursday. … Lauko participated in an optional morning skate and may be recalled from Providence of the American Hockey League, or the Bruins could play with seven defensemen. … Jiricek, the No. 6 pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, will make his NHL debut. At 18 years, 334 days, he will become the second-youngest defenseman to play for the Blue Jackets. Rostislav Klesla played in Columbus' inaugural game Oct. 7, 2000, at age 18 years, 200 days.
