Pastrnak's hat trick powers Bruins past Ducks

ANAHEIM --David Pastrnak had a hat trick and an assist for the Boston Bruins, who extended their point streak to 14 games with a 7-1 win against the Anaheim Ducks at Honda Center on Sunday.

Pastrnak's hat trick was his first this season and 13th in the NHL.
"I call him an artist because he's so creative," Bruins coach Jim Montgomery said. "He finds different ways to take you out of your seat when you're watching him."
David Krejci had a goal and two assists, Charlie Coyle had a goal and an assist, and Jeremy Swayman made 28 saves for Boston (32-4-4), which won its fourth straight and is 11-0-3 during its point streak.
"We are all playing together," Pastrnak said. "We're playing well. We're a heck of a team. Since the first game, every line is doing its part and we're all playing well. Winning makes it way easier to have fun."

Trevor Zegras scored, and John Gibson made 35 saves for the Ducks (12-25-4), who were looking to win three in a row for the first time this season.
The Bruins were playing the second of a back to back following a 4-2 win at the San Jose Sharks on Saturday night.
"You can learn from them, really," Anaheim forward Adam Henrique said of Boston. "The way they play, a veteran team in a tough back to back that seemed like a home game for them. There's still lots to learn here."
Pastrnak gave the Bruins a 3-1 lead at 11:56 of the second period, scoring with a wrist shot from the right circle on a power play. He then scored 17 seconds later on a breakaway to extend the lead to 4-1.
"Through two periods, it's 4-1 and we made maybe five mistakes and three of them ended up in our net," Ducks coach Dallas Eakins said. "We can't make those mistakes."
Brad Marchand pushed it to 5-1 at 6:20 of the third period when he recovered a puck behind Anaheim's net and scored on a wraparound.
Hampus Lindholm, who was playing his first game in Anaheim since being traded to the Bruins on March 19, scored from the bottom of the left circle to make it 6-1 at 11:26.
"It was a different feeling, but happy with the two points and the process," Lindholm said. "We were playing good on this road trip here, so it's nice to go back home with a big win."

BOS@ANA: Lindholm extends the lead to 6-1 in the 3rd

Coyle banked a shot off Gibson's skate at 16:10 for the 7-1 final.
"It was in the third we just unscrewed our brains," Eakins said. "We tried to get cute. We let our foot off the pedal, and I think that shows elite teams don't take their foot off the pedal just because they're up."
Pastrnak gave Boston a 1-0 lead at 3:49 of the first period when he scored off a pass from behind the net by Krejci.
"I had some good looks," Pastrnak said. "I was able to capitalize."
Krejci then made it 2-0 at 9:46, this time scoring off a pass from behind the net by Pastrnak.
Zegras cut it to 2-1 at 16:55 on a one-timer from the left circle.
