SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. - Kyle Bortis had a goal and three assists as the Calgary Hitmen powered to a 6-2 win over the host Swift Current Broncos in WHL action Friday.
Calgary (46-7-3-1), which connected for three power-play goals and once on a penalty shot, is now on a 7-0-1-0 run over its last eight games.
Brett Sonne led the Hitmen with a pair of goals, giving him 36 on the season.
Calgary's Joel Broda scored his league leading 41st goal of the season, Paul Postma connected for his 19th of the year, Bortis notched his 21st of the year, while Brandon Kozun scored on a third-period penalty shot to notch his 31st of the year.
Swift Current (29-24-1-1) was led by a two-goal performance by Michael Stickland, who now has 18 goals on the year, and a single marker from Eric Doyle who now has 11 goals on the season.
Hitmen netminder Michael Snider improved to 8-2-0-0 on the season with a 26-save performance. Broncos starting goaltender Travis Yonkman dropped to 17-12-0-1 after yielding five goals on 21 shots in 45:53 of play. Morgan Clark stopped seven of eight shots to end the game, and the only goal he allowed was the penalty shot goal by Kozun.
Calgary swept the season series between the two teams, winning all four games by a 24-15 margin.
