SAGINAW, Mich. - Kyle Bochek and Tyler Murovich scored two goals each as the Saginaw Spirit built a 5-0 lead in the first period and cruised to an 8-3 victory over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds on Sunday afternoon in the Ontario Hockey League.
Both of Bochek's goals came in the opening 10 minutes of the game as Saginaw (21-12-0-2) chased Greyhounds starting netminder Bryce O'Hagan from the net with three goals on seven shots. Adam Comrie and Barry Sanderson continued the scoring before Anthony Peluso managed a reply for Sault Ste. Marie late in the first period.
Richard Jarusek added a goal and two assists for the Spirit, who snapped a three-game losing streak. Chris Chappell rounded out the scoring for Saginaw.
Jordan Nolan and Jacob Muzzin added goals and Michael Fine chipped in with three assists for the Greyhounds (15-19-2-1).
Edward Pasquale made 28 saves to earn the win, while Cody St. Jaques stopped 15 of 20 shots after replacing O'Hagan.
