BRAMPTON, Ont. - Bobby Sanguinetti's power play goal at the 9:37 mark of the second period stood as the winner as the Brampton Battalion defeated the Guelph Storm 3-1 in Ontario Hockey League action Sunday afternoon.
Luke Lynes opened the scoring for the Battalion 12:01 into first period, converting a Matt Duchene pass in the high slot. With Brampton leading 2-0 late in the middle frame, Anthony Nigro cut the deficit in half on the man advantage. However, the Battalion regained their two-goal cushion on a Kyle DeCoste tally at 7:03 of the third. Brampton also got some solid goaltending from Patrick Killeen, who made 26 saves. Thomas McCollum countered with 25 saves for Guelph.
With the victory, Brampton (39-20-1-3) continues to lead the Central Division and sit second overall in the Eastern Conference.
