Bobby Sanguinetti scores hat trick as Battalion beat Otters 7-3 @NHLdotcom

BRAMPTON, Ont. - Bobby Sanguinetti scored three goals and added an assist to lead the Brampton Battalion to a 7-3 victory over the Erie Otters in Ontario Hockey League action Sunday afternoon.

The New York Rangers prospect set a new team record for goals by a defenceman in a season with his 19th, his first of the game. The previous team mark of 18 was set in 2000-2001 by Rostislav Klesla, presently with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Rounding out the scoring for the Battalion was John Hughes, who registered a pair, while Cory Emmerton and Thomas Stajan added singles. Erie found its offence from Zach Torquato, Nick Palmieri and Tyler Hostetter.

Bryan Pitton was pulled from the Battalion net after surrendering three goals on 13 shots. Patrick Killeen came in relief and made nine saves. Jaroslan Janus turned aside 46 of 53 shots in the Erie goal.
