ST. LOUIS - Blues captain Alex Pietrangelo and forward Robby Fabbri were on-hand Thursday for the official unveiling of Ice Zone - a new exhibit at The Magic House in Kirkwood made possible through a grant from the Blues for Kids Foundation.
The exhibit features hands-on ice experiences to teach children about the science behind making the ice and also includes an informative video about the ice installation process at Scottrade Center. The exhibit also features interactive educational games and photo opportunities that allow kids to imagine themselves as St. Louis Blues players.

"It's a great place to come play and learn about what it takes to run our operations," said Pietrangelo. "To have the opportunity to have an interactive experience, not just for the kids but for us, is fun."
"We want to be one with our community, and a good way to start is with the kids and making them Blues fans early," Fabbri added. "In this city, that's not that hard, but (The Magic House) is a good place for them to start."
Long before the exhibit officially opened at 9:30 a.m., lines were forming outside The Magic House to get the first glimpse of the new Blues-themed area. Kids arriving early received a free Blues prize pack and also got the chance to meet Louie before practicing their slap shot.

"We are so excited," said Carrie Hutchcraft, the Director of Marketing / Development for The Magic House. "We always try to keep things fresh here, so to have the chance to brighten the space and bring a lot of new, cool content - literally 'cool' with the ice sensory experiences, we were thrilled."
"We are so grateful for the partnership we have with the St. Louis Blues," Hutchcraft added. "It's so important to us to have great partners in the city and to have the Blues support here in this exhibit is just outstanding."
The new exhibit will be available for all visitors to The Magic House, which is located at 516 S. Kirkwood Road. Summer hours are Monday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m; Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
"(This exhibit) is really the science behind hockey and letting kids get to see, touch and feel all about the ice and learn about what it takes to put the ice in at Scottrade Center," said Randy Girsch, the Blues' Director of Community Development. "The Magic House partnership is really special to us. It's an iconic place in St. Louis for kids to go and a real big community outreach for us. There's no better place to be: where kids go and our fan base starts."
