Blues trade Fairchild to Coyotes @NHLdotcom

The St. Louis Blues on Wednesday traded defenseman Cade Fairchild to the Phoenix Coyotes for future considerations.

Fairchild has one assist in five NHL games, all with the Blues in the 2011-12 season. He's spent all this season with the Blues' American Hockey League team, the Chicago Wolves. In 33 AHL games, Fairchild has two goals, 21 points and a plus-8 rating.

He was drafted by the Blues in the fourth round (No. 96) of the 2007 NHL Draft.

The Coyotes have assigned Fairchild to their AHL team, the Portland Pirates.
