Blues' shutout streak ends at 215:56 @NHL

The St. Louis Blues' shutout streak ended at 215 minutes and 56 seconds when the Columbus Blue Jackets scored in the first period of their game at Nationwide Arena on Friday night.

Cam Atkinson scored when he deflected defenseman Adrian Aucoin's slap shot from the right point past goaltender Jake Allen at 14:32 of the opening period to tie the game at 1-1.

The goal, upheld by video review of a possible high stick, was the first scored against the Blues since Columbus' Artem Anisimov beat Allen at 18:36 of the second period last Friday, a game that St. Louis won 3-1.

The Blues are on a six-game winning streak that included shutouts in each of the past three games, all on the road. The Blues shut out the Detroit Red Wings 1-0 on Sunday, blanked the Nashville Predators 1-0 on Tuesday and beat the Minnesota Wild 2-0 on Thursday.

Brian Elliott was in goal for all three shutouts, but Blues coach Ken Hitchcock said after the victory in Minnesota that Allen would get the start in Columbus in the second game of a back-to-back.
