Blues' Shattenkirk likely won't play Thursday: report @NHLdotcom

St. Louis Blues defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk will likely miss the game Thursday against the Edmonton Oilers with a lower-body injury, coach Ken Hitchcock told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on Wednesday.

"We didn't practice him … just precautionary-wise," Hitchcock said. "But we'll see here in the next few days how he turns out."

Shattenkirk didn't play in the third period of a 4-3 win at the Calgary Flames on Tuesday after sustaining the injury. He missed 25 games last season with tears to his abdominal muscles and groin, but Hitchcock said this injury is not related.
