Blues' Polak to undergo wrist surgery @NHL

ST. LOUIS (AP) - St. Louis Blues defenseman Roman Polak will have surgery to repair a severed tendon in his right wrist and be sidelined indefinitely.

Earlier in the week, the Blues believed Polak would only miss a game or two. The injury will be re-evaluated in 10 days to two weeks, but the team said Wednesday it did not believe the defenseman would miss the rest of the season.

Polak was injured during the second period of a 1-0 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday night. It's believed that Polak was cut by Sidney Crosby's skate.

Defenseman Nathan Oystrick was recalled from Peoria of the AHL.
