ST. LOUIS -- St. Louis Blues defenseman Roman Polak was helped off the ice at the end of the first period with what appeared to be a lower-body injury after being tripped up by Los Angeles Kings defenseman Rob Scuderi in the offensive zone in Game 5 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals on Wednesday night.

Polak was down on the ice for a bit, but skated off with some help from teammates T.J. Oshie and Barret Jackman. He appeared to be favoring his right leg.

Polak, who has played in all four games in the series, is Jackman's defensive partner.

There is no word on whether Polak will return for the second period, which would limit the Blues to five defensemen the rest of the game.
