Schwartz fined for actions in Blues game against Hurricanes

NEW YORK -- St. Louis Blues forward Jaden Schwartz has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for cross-checking Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Dougie Hamilton during NHL Game No. 995 in Carolina on Friday, Mar. 1, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 16:28 of the first period. Schwartz was assessed a minor penalty for cross-checking.
The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
