DRAFT NOTES
The Blues acquired the 27th overall pick in this year's draft from the Washington Capitals in the trade that sent Kevin Shattenkirk and goalie Pheonix Copley to the nation's capital on Feb. 27, 2017. In addition to the first-round pick, the Blues also acquired forward Zach Sanford and Brad Malone from Washington.
The Blues do not have a third-round pick this season due to their early season acquisition of Nail Yakupov from the Edmonton Oilers. The Oilers also received prospect from Zach Pochiro from the Blues in the deal.
At the 2016 NHL Draft in Buffalo, the Blues acquired a fifth-round pick that was used to select Conner Bleackley. Because of that deal, the Blues' original fifth-round pick this season belongs to the Chicago Blackhawks. However, the Blues did acquire a fifth-round pick this year (No. 130 overall) from Buffalo in the July 2, 2016 deal that sent goalie Anders Nilsson to the Sabres.
