Blue Jackets re-sign Blunden

The Columbus Blue Jackets have re-signed forward Mike Blunden to a one-year contract. Blunden, 23, recorded 2 goals and 2 assists, 59 penalty minutes and was plus-3 in 40 games with the Blue Jackets in 2009-10. He scored the first goal of his NHL career against Chicago on March 25. He also collected 7-9-16 and 43 penalty minutes in 25 games with the Syracuse Crunch, Columbus' American Hockey League affiliate.
 
Chicago's second pick, 43rd overall, in the 2005 Entry Draft, Blunden was acquired by the Blue Jackets from Chicago in exchange for Adam Pineault on Jan. 10, 2009.
