Blue Jackets' Gaborik out with broken collarbone

by Craig Merz

COLUMBUS -- Marian Gaborik of the Columbus Blue Jackets suffered a broken collarbone while setting up a goal in the first period of the game against the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday night.

He was sandwiched between two Flyers, Braydon Coburn and Zac Rinaldo, while taking a shot and appeared to be hit in the head by Rinaldo. Teammate Nick Foligno picked up the rebound and fed Ryan Johansen, who scored at 10:43 to give Columbus a 1-0 lead.

The Blue Jackets announced that Gaborik will be out indefinitely.

It was Gaborik's first game after missing 17 with a sprained knee. He has five goals and six assists in 17 games this season.
