The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned center Dana Tyrell to the American Hockey League’s Springfield Falcons, Blue Jackets General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Tyrell, 25, made his Blue Jackets debut November 8 vs. Tampa Bay and has averaged 6:56 of ice time in three games. The Airdrie, Alberta native has also collected five goals and four assists for nine points with six penalty minutes and a +7 plus/minus rating in seven games with Springfield this season. Acquired by the Blue Jackets in a trade with the Lightning on Mar. 3, 2014, he has registered 7-17-24 and 26 penalty minutes in 135 career NHL games.
