Columbus goalie stops 'em all for first NHL shutout

Pokemon has Magickarp. The Columbus Blue Jackets now have Magickorp.

Goalie Joonas Korpisalo got his first NHL shutout on Saturday in the Blue Jackets' 7-0 win against the New York Islanders, and when it was over a new Pokemon character was born, courtesy of the Blue Jackets Twitter account.

Korpisalo, or Magikorp, who made 24 saves in the victory, spent the Blue Jackets bye week with their American Hockey League affiliate in Cleveland.
"I think that was huge for me," Korpisalo said of playing an AHL game Wednesday. "Get some practices, get a game in and be ready tonight."
