BLOG: Kirby Dach Pens Letter to Brother Colton Ahead of 2021 NHL Draft

Two years after Kirby Dach heard his name called in Vancouver at the 2019 NHL Draft, another Dach is set to hear his called this weekend as the 2021 draft gets underway.
Colton Dach, Kirby's younger brother, is the No. 19-ranked North American skater by NHL Central Scouting in this year's draft crop. Though he won't be a top-three selection like his older brother and won't have the same experience in the virtual draft setting this year, Kirby penned a letter to his brother with some familial advice ahead of the day he's waited his whole career for.

Colton was a point-per-game player for the Saskatoon Blades -- the same team Chicago drafted Kirby from -- in a pandemic-shortened season last year, posting 20 (11G, 9A) in as many skates. The forward had 29 points in 62 games during his first season for the Blades in 2019-20.
The 2021 NHL Draft begins on Friday night at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN2 and continues on Saturday at 10 a.m. with rounds 2-7 on NHL Network.
