The Blackhawks clearly like Adam Boqvist's game enough to take him eighth overall, but there is still plenty of development left to happen for someone who is often compared to Erik Karlsson.
As he spoke with media following his selection on Friday night, Boqvist said he wants to improve every aspect of his game before making the jump to the NHL.
"I think I need to improve my defensive play," he said. "I need to be bigger and stronger. Of course, my offense can be better too. So, almost everything."
The 17-year-old was unsure of his next career steps, but just signed a one-year extension with Brynas over in Sweden.
