Blackhawks defensive prospect Adam Boqvist has been named to Sweden's preliminary roster for the 2019 World Junior Championships
Boqvist, 18, was selected eighth overall in the 2018 NHL Draft. The offensively dynamic defenseman has settled in nicely to the Ontario Hockey League and has 21 points (7G, 14A) through 20 games for the London Knights.
Last season, Boqvist was named the top defenseman at the Under-18 tournament, helping Sweden capture bronze.
Boqvist joins Nicolas Beaudin (Canada), Ian Mitchell (Canada), MacKenzie Entwistle (Canada) and Jakub Galvas (Czech) as the Blackhawks prospects currently named to rosters.
The 2019 World Junior Championships will begin on Dec. 26, and end on Jan. 5, 2019 in Vancouver and Victoria, B.C.
