Blackwater has two goals, assist as Chiefs defeat Rockets 5-2 @NHLdotcom

KELOWNA, B.C. - Judd Blackwater had two goals and an assist as the Spokane Chiefs defeated the Kelowna Rockets 5-2 Wednesday in Western Hockey League action.

Ondrej Roman and Levko Koper had two assists each as the Chiefs (44-14-1-5) moved into a first-place tie with Vancouver and Tri-City in the Western Conference. They also improved their league-best road record to 22-7-1-2.

Tyler Johnson, David Rutherford and Justin McRae also scored for Spokane.

Dustin Tokarski faced 35 shots in the win.

The Chiefs scored two goals 15 seconds apart in the first, and twice in 20 seconds to ensure victory late in the third.

After beating Vancouver on Sunday, the Rockets (34-22-2-6) are back in the loss column and missed a chance to overtake idle Seattle for fourth.

Milan Kytnar and Colin Long replied for the Rockets, and Tysen Barrie had two assists.

Kris Westblom made 26 saves in goal.
