Blackhawks trim four from roster

The Chicago Blackhawks have assigned right wing Troy Brouwer and goaltender Corey Crawford to the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs. In addition, the Blackhawks have returned forwards Akim Aliu and Kyle Beach to their junior clubs.

The Blackhawks’ roster is now at 28 active players, which includes 15 forwards, 10 defensemen and three goaltenders.

Chicago launches its 2008-09 regular season when they face off against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Friday at 6 P.M (CT). The Blackhawks open the home portion of their schedule against the Nashville Predators on Mon., Oct. 13 at 7:30 P.M.
