Blackhawks' Teravainen set for first preseason game

by Staff

Chicago Blackhawks forwards Teuvo Teravainen, Joakim Nordstrom and Kris Versteeg are expected to make their preseason debuts Friday against the New York Rangers.

Teravainen and Nordstrom were day-to-day each with an upper-body injury. Teravainen, No. 5 on's list of the Top 60 Prospects, scored two goals during Blackhawks scrimmages on Sept. 20 at Notre Dame but was injured following a hit from defenseman Cam Barker.

Versteeg, in his second season back with the Blackhawks, had 12 goals and 36 points in 81 games last season.

Corey Crawford will start for the Blackhawks, and coach Joel Quenneville said he is likely to play the entire game.
