Forward Artemi Panarin is negotiating a contract extension with the Chicago Blackhawks, his agent told the Chicago Tribune on Tuesday.
Panarin, the Calder Trophy winner as NHL rookie of the Year last season, has one year remaining on his contract at a salary of $812,500. He earned almost $2.6 million in bonuses last season, the newspaper said. when he had 30 goals and 47 assists (77 points) playing 80 regular-season games.

"As of right now, I like everything and … I'm very content," Panarin said.
He also said, "I came to play on the NHL level not because of money and contracts. My agent will deal with the rest."
Panarin, 24, is playing for Team Russia at the World Cup of Hockey 2016.
