Blackhawks sign Stanton to one-year deal @NHLdotcom

The Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday announced that the club has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with 23-year-old defenseman Ryan Stanton. Terms of the deal were not released.

Stanton made his NHL debut against the St. Louis Blues on April 27, 2013, and had a plus-1 rating and two penalty minutes in 17:05 of ice time.

The 6-foot-2, 196 pound blueliner spent the majority of 2012-13 playing for the Rockford IceHogs, the Blackhawks' American Hockey League affiliate, where he had a career-high 22 assists and 25 points in 73 games.

Originally signed by Chicago as a free agent on March 12, 2010, Stanton has nine goals and 60 points in 224 games with the IceHogs.
