DETROIT -- Detroit Red Wings goalie Petr Mrazek will start against the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday after missing one game with a sore groin.

Mrazek was injured in the 2016 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series outdoor 5-3 win against the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday. Jimmy Howard started Monday in a 3-2 overtime win against the Dallas Stars.
It is the first game of the season between Detroit and the Chicago Blackhawks, who were long-time Central Division rivals when the Red Wings were in the Western Conference.
Defenseman Christian Ehrhoff makes his debut for the Blackhawks after being acquired in a trade with the Los Angeles Kings for defenseman Rob Scuderi. Ehrhoff was a healthy scratch in the 3-2 win against Washington on Sunday at the United Center.
"He moves the puck, brings a good shot," Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said.
Quenneville said right wing Dale Weise -- acquired in a trade with the Montreal Canadiens along with Tomas Fleischmann for forward Phillip Danault and a second-round pick in the 2018 NHL Draft -- will join the Blackhawks on Wednesday after clearing up work visa issues.
Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane, the NHL's leading scorer with 85 points, is most concerned with the Red Wings' speed.
"That's what struck me when I was watching them the other night," he said. "They're a very fast team. You think they're getting older and they're slowing down, but they still have it. And they bring up young guys and they've got great speed."
Quenneville says Detroit rarely makes mistakes.
"They always know how to play. They have dangerous specialty teams," Quenneville said. "… They all know how to make plays and they're always in the right position. They know how to work their sticks (in the defensive zone)."
The Blackhawks and Red Wings play again Sunday at United Center in Chicago.
