CHICAGO (AP) - The Chicago Blackhawks have retooled and come into the season with a grittier team.

Forward Patrick Kane says the Blackhawks are hungry, too, after a generally lackluster year one season after winning the Stanley Cup. Kane is joined by a number of top forward, including Jonathan Toews (tayvz), Patrick Sharp, Marian Hossa, Dave Bolland and newcomer Andrew Brunette.

The Blackhawks have also brought in some tougher players, including Daniel Carcillo and Jamal Mayers. On defense, Duncan Keith, Brent Seabrook and Niklas Hjalmarsson (JAL'-mahr-suhn) will anchor the blue line.

The Blackhawks are set with Corey Crawford as their No. 1 goalie.
