VANCOUVER – Chicago Blackhawks center Dave Bolland left Monday's game against the Vancouver Canucks in the first period with a lower-body injury.
Bolland, who has seven goal and 14 points while playing mostly as the second line center for the NHL-leading Blackhawks, will not return, according to the team.
It wasn't clear how Bolland got hurt, but both he and Marcus Kruger went to the dressing room shortly after a rare-failed penalty kill in the first period. Kruger returned to start the second period, and took over Bolland's spot on the second line.
