Center Artem Anisimov signed a five-year contract with the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday. Financial terms were not released but TSN reported the total value to be $22.75 million.

Anisimov was acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday as part of a trade for forward Brandon Saad. The 2015-16 season was the final year on Anisimov's three-year contract; he could have become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2016.

The 27-year-old had seven goals and 27 points in 52 games last season. He scored a career-high 22 goals for the Blue Jackets in 2013-14.

Anisimov, who began his career with the New York Rangers, has 86 goals and 192 points in 412 games.
