Big first period helps the Rockets defeat the Cougars 3-2

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. - Three first period goals were all the Kelowna Rockets needed on Friday to defeat the Prince George Cougars 3-2 in Western Hockey League action.

Madison Bowey, Carter Rigby and Cody Chikie all scored for the Rockets (7-11-3).

Charles Inglis led the Cougars (6-14-2) with a goal and an assist while Greg Fraser added the other.

Adam Brown made 20 saves for the win as Drew Owlsey stopped 21 shots in defeat.

Kelowna went 1-for-4 on the power play while Prince George failed to score on six opportunities with the man advantage.
