BARRIE, Ont. - Steven Beyers scored once in regulation time then had the shoot-out winner as the Barrie Colts edged the Brampton Battalion 4-3 in Ontario Hockey League action on Thursday.
Colin Behenna had a goal and two assists for Barrie (20-13-3) while Alex Lepkowski scored the other.
Sam Carrick had two goals and an assist for Brampton (20-11-4) as Ian Watters added a goal and an assist.
Mathias Niederberger, in his first start since returning from the Division I Junior World Championships where he was named the tournament?s top goaltender, turned aside 24 shots for the win while Matej Machovsky made 24 saves in a losing cause.
Barrie and Brampton both went 1-for-6 on the power play.
The Colts victory snapped a six-game winning streak for the Battalion.
