Wings coach Jeff Blashill sent Jonathan Bernier out to replace Jimmy Howard and Bernier helped the Wings get a point as they rallied to tie the game late before losing in overtime.
On Sunday, in the second game of the back-to-back, home-and-home set, Bernier got the start.
Early in the game, Flyers defenseman Ivan Provorov shoved Wings center Dylan Larkin, who ended up in the Detroit net on top of Bernier.
Although Bernier finished the period, it was Howard who came out to start the second.
"I thought there was a chance but then he went on and finished the period," Howard said after the game. "I thought he was all right. But I don't know, to be honest with you. I haven't seen him since the end of the first."
The Wings announced that Bernier had an upper-body injury but it does not appear to be serious.
"We anticipate Bernier being fine," Blashill said. "It was protocol. We don't think it's going to be a concussion, we think it's more of a neck issue."
Bernier finished with nine saves on 10 shots.
