Ben Lovejoy scores, John Curry stops 31 shots as Penguins defeat Marlies 3-1

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - Ben Lovejoy scored and added an assist as the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins defeated the Manitoba Moose 3-1 in American Hockey League action Sunday.

Matt Pettinger scored 1:07 into the game to give the Moose an early lead, but that proved to be the first and final goal for Manitoba (24-22-5).

Lovejoy scored a power-play goal at 15:21 in the first, Tim Wallace added a single in the second and Luca Caputi had an empty netter for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (22-23-2).

Penguins goaltender John Curry made 31 saves for the win, while at the other end Daren Machesney stopped 25 shots.
