Bellows Agrees To Entry-Level Deal

The New York Islanders and Kieffer Bellows have agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract.
Selected in the first round, 19th overall, of the 2016 National Hockey League Draft, Bellows scored 14 points (seven goals, seven assists) in 34 games during his freshman season at Boston University last year. The 6'0, 201-pound forward will play the 2017-18 season for the Portland Winterhawks of the Western Hockey League.

On the international stage, Bellows won gold with Team USA at the 2017 Under-20 World Junior Championships in Montreal - Toronto. He scored two goals in the gold medal game against Canada. He also won a bronze medal with the U.S. at the 2016 Under-18 World Championships, scoring eight points (five goals, three assists) in seven games.
A native of Edina, MN, Bellows scored 81 points (50 goals, 31 assists) in 62 games while with the United States National Team Development Program in 2015-16. He finished second on the club in scoring and became just the fourth player to score 50 goals in a season with the U.S. Under-18 team, joining Auston Matthews, Patrick Kane and Phil Kessel.
Prior to joining the USNTDP, Bellows helped Edina High School secure its second straight Minnesota Class 2A state championship in 2014
