MONTREAL (AP) - Montreal Canadiens great Jean Beliveau has been released from the hospital after suffering a stroke late last month.

Team spokesman Donald Beauchamp says Beliveau was released on Friday and his condition is improving.

Beauchamp says the 80-year-old Hall of Famer was taken to a rehabilitation center.

Beliveau suffered the stroke on Feb. 27 - the second in as many years.

Beliveau won 10 Stanley Cups and scored 507 goals with the Canadiens. He retired in 1971 after playing his entire NHL career in Montreal.
