Beauchemin, Fisher downplay earlier hit

by Curtis Zupke / NHL.com
ANAHEIM -- Ducks defenseman Francois Beauchemin laid a big open-ice hit on Mike Fisher in the Oct. 29 meeting, but he doesn't expect any carryover effect.

"I think the hit was clean and obviously they didn't (have) a suspension," Beauchemin said. "I don't really expect anything. But you never know. Sometimes the games go our way and they decide to do something, and I'll be ready for it. But I don't really expect it."

Fisher didn't have a problem with it.

"I know he didn't mean to hurt me," Fisher said. "He texted me after to make sure I was all right. It was a classy thing to do. He plays physical and caught me at a vulnerable spot. It could have been worse…he's an honest, fair player. He plays hard and hits hard and that's part of it."
