Bennett-Cup 7-2

Beau Bennett had quite a Friday.
The same day the New Jersey Devils announced
a one-year, $725,000 contract for the forward
, Bennett got to spend his day with the Stanley Cup.

The 24-year-old forward played one Stanley Cup Playoff game for the Pittsburgh Penguins and was traded to New Jersey at the 2016 NHL Draft on June 24. But that didn't stop the Gardena, Calif. native from enjoying his day with the trophy in the Los Angeles area.
The Cup joined Bennett at the Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo, Calif, where the Los Angeles Kings practice, and where Bennett played minor hockey. There, he was greeted by fans who wanted a rare picture with the Cup, including 2014 Olympic bronze medal-winning figure skater, Gracie Gold.

Bennett capped his day with a party at the beach, with the Cup as the guest of honor, because what beautiful southern California summer day would be complete without fun in the sun and sand.
