Beach scores winner as Spokane Chiefs edge Tri-City Americans 3-2 @NHLdotcom

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Kyle Beach scored the game-winner at 10:48 of the third period to lead the Spokane Chiefs to a 3-2 victory over the Tri-City Americans in Western Hockey League action Saturday night.

Tyler Johnson and Mitch Wahl also scored for Spokane (27-16-4), while James Reid stopped 32 of 34 shots.

Justin Feser and Adam Hughesman had goals for Tri-City (36-12-1), but Spokane shut down the Americans power play, allowing just one goal on six opportunities.

Alex Pechurskiy finished with 23 saves for Tri-City, which leads the U.S. Division and Western Conference and is the top team in the WHL with a three-point lead over Saskatoon.
