Beach scores twice to propel Spokane to 5-2 win over Tri-City @NHLdotcom

SPOKANE, Wash. - Kyle Beach scored a pair of goals and Stefan Ulmer had three assists as the Spokane Chiefs posted a 5-2 victory over the Tri-City Americans on Saturday night.

The Chiefs, who trailed 1-0 after a goal by Tri-City's Tyler Schmidt just 2:15 into the game, rattled off five straight goals - including two by Beach in the third period - to cruise to victory.

Mitch Wahl added a goal and two assists for Spokane (2-0-1), while Jared Cowen and Brett Bartman also scored and James Reid finished with 24 saves.

Johnny Lazo scored late in the third for the Americans (2-1-0) and Brendan Shinnimin added a pair of assists to move into a three-way tie as the WHL's scoring leader with nine points (two goals, seven assists).
