Beach scores a pair as Lethbridge cruises past Moose Jaw 6-2 @NHLdotcom

MOOSE JAW, Sask. - Kyle Beach scored twice, including the game winner late in the second period, as the Lethbridge Hurricanes earned a 6-2 win over the Moose Jaw Warriors in WHL action Tuesday.

The win ended a nine-game winless streak for the Hurricanes (21-21-1-2), while giving them their first victory of 2009. Lethbridge hadn't won since beating the Regina Pats on Dec. 16.

Beach, acquired from the Everett Silvertips prior to the WHL trade deadline, put the Hurricanes up 3-1 at 17:25 of the second period. His second of the game midway through the third period gives him four goals in his first three games with Lethbridge.

Carter Bancks, Colton Sceviour, Austin Fyten and Garrett Taylor added singles for the Hurricanes.

Thomas Frazee and Martin Filo replied for the Warriors (14-28-1-1), who are winless in four.

Michael Tadjdeh made 26 saves to earn the win for Lethbridge.

Deven Dubyk stopped 17 shots in defeat for Moose Jaw.
