Lott, Giants celebrate Sharks' Game 7 win

Bay Area celebrities rejoice on social media as San Jose reaches Western Conference Final

The San Jose Sharks are in the Western Conference Final for the first time since 2011, and their high-profile fans took to Twitter to celebrate.

The Sharks beat the Nashville Predators 5-0 in Game 7 of the Western Conference Second Round on Thursday.

Pro Football Hall of Fame member and former San Francisco 49ers defensive back Ronnie Lott was watching Game 7 intently. When Joe Pavelski opened the scoring in the first period, Lott gave the Sharks captain a shout out on Twitter.

Then after the game, he gave his perspective on the hard-fought series.

The San Francisco Giants know something about winning a big Game 7 and congratulated the Sharks on their victory while also voting for Pavelski in the EA SPORTS NHL 17 Cover Vote.

Former U.S. Olympic figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi is a longtime Sharks fan, and a very proud one these days. Her husband is Sharks broadcaster Bret Hedican.

Ben Zorn of the ABC show "Bachelorette" is excited that the Golden State Warriors and the Sharks are in the conference finals in their sports.
