Battalion take 2-0 series lead with 4-2 win over Wolves

BRAMPTON, Ont. - Phillip Lane scored three times as the Brampton Battalion defeated the visiting Sudbury Wolves 4-2 on Sunday afternoon in Ontario Hockey League playoff action.

Sam Carrick had a goal and an assist for the Battalion while Dylan Blujus and Brenden Miller chipped in with two assists each.

Joshua Leivo and Nathan Pancel both scored for the Wolves.

Matej Machovski only had to make 12 saves to pick up the victory as Johan Mattsson stopped 27 of 30 shots in defeat.

Brampton went 2 for 5 on the power play while Sudbury failed to score on four chances with the man advantage.

The Battalion now lead the Eastern Conference quarter-final series 2-0 with Game 3 to take place on Tuesday in Sudbury.
