Battalion strike for two quick short-handed goals in 5-1 win over Knights @NHL

BRAMPTON, Ont. - The Brampton Battalion are hoping that full houses become a common occurrence at home.

Bolstered by an enthusiastic crowd of over 4,800, the Battalion disposed of the London Knights 5-1 Thursday in an Ontario Hockey League game that saw Jason Dale and Evgeny Grachev strike twice short-handed within a 1:21 span in the third period.

Scott Tanski opened the scoring for the Brampton at 3:31 of the first period before Justin Taylor tied it for London with a short-handed goal at the 9:50 mark of the second.

The Battalion took over from there, reeling off four unanswered goals.

Cody Hodgson and Matt Kang also scored for the Battalion (39-16-1-1), which remained two points behind the Belleville Bulls for first place in the Eastern Conference with two games in hand.

London (40-15-1-2) saw its string of three consecutive victories come to an end.
