MOOSE JAW, Sask. - Jason Bast and Martin Filo each scored a goal and an assist as the Moose Jaw Warriors won 4-2 over the Regina Pats on Friday in WHL action.
Moose Jaw opened the scoring in the second period with Quinton Howdens' early marker, and followed that up with a short-handed goal by Cody Smuk.
Bast put one away at 15:58 of the second.
But Regina's Brett Leffler and Jordan Eberle would answer for the Pats, with Eberle's marker coming shorthanded as well.
After mustering only six shots in two periods, the third saw the Pats come out fast and furious, outshooting Moose Jaw 20-5.
But it wasn't enough as Filo added a late short-handed goal to finish off the rivals from down the road.
Moose Jaw's Jeff Bosch, facing his former team for the first time in a Warriors uniform, stopped 24 of 26 shots.
Derek Tendler got his first WHL start, making 25 saves in the loss.
Moose Jaw (16-38-1-2) remains last in the WHL's Eastern Conference, while Regina (23-30-1-5) stands 10th.
