DETROIT -- Defenseman Matt Bartkowski is in the Boston Bruins lineup Tuesday at Joe Louis Arena after missing the first two games of the Eastern Conference First Round series against the Detroit Red Wings because of the flu.
The best-of-7 series is tied 1-1.
Bartkowski took the place of Andrej Meszaros, who played the first two games and averaged 18:11 of ice time with no points, four shots on goal and a plus-1 rating.
Bartkowski had 18 points, all assists, and a plus-22 rating in 65 games during the regular season. He appeared in seven games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs last season and had two points, including his only NHL goal in 91 total games between the regular season and playoffs.
The Bruins are still playing without defensemen Adam McQuaid (quad) and Dennis Seidenberg (knee) and forwards Daniel Paille (head) and Chris Kelly (back).
Detroit is missing Daniel Alfredsson (upper body). Joakim Andersson is making his 2014 playoff debut in Game 3.
